It seemed that my only options were to either send my Playstation away for repairs or purchase a new system. Well, I certainly did not want to spend $400 on a new console. And I really didn"t want to spend $150 and wait two months for my system to get fixed. So I kept on searching for a way to repair my console on my own.It didn"t take long to realize that there is a ton of bad information out there. Seriously, there is so much bad info that will lead to nothing but an even more damaged PS3 and a ton of frustration. I was able to find some good, useful information on how to easily fix and diagnose problems though.Ò Not just the black screen problems, but others as well. So here are some quick repair tips I picked up. Hopefully one of them will solve your problem.
First thing you will want to do is perform a reset on your console. Do this by pushing in and hold the power button for about five seconds. When you hear the confirmation beep, then you know you have reset your PS3 back to default settings. Next, check each and every connection to and from your console to ensure your problem is not being caused by a loose or faulty cable. After that, you will want to take your hard drive out, wait two minutes, and then place it back in.
Believe it or not, these simple steps will solve about 90 percent of all issues. Blinking errors, bluetooth problems, freezing, and display issues can be fixed in this way.
Unfortunately, if you are like me, you will need to take more drastic action. Now, drastic should not mean buying a new PS3 console or sending it off to be repaired.
