One simple scrapbooking page idea would be to decide if you wanted to single mat or double mat your pictures.Ҡ Keep in mind that if you are scrapping on white pages, that your bottom mat color isnt too light or it could fade into the background instead adding that bit of pop to your scrap booking page layout.ҠҠ This scenario is also true if your pictures have a very light background. ҠAn example I had was of pictures taken at the beach on an over-cast, hazy day.Ҡ The pictures of the water and the beach scenes had great depth and content, but we light and had lots of gray coloring.Ҡ When trying to use a light blue-green paper and it just made the pictures look washed out and uninteresting.Ҡ Alternatively I tried using a dark blue-green paper next to the same pictures and they just popped.Ҡ I used the lighter color to double mat some of the pictures which would be mounted on top of a dark, patterned background paper. Ҡ
For this scrapbooking page idea I used the same patterned background paper, which has both of the mat colors in it to make a border at top of the page and towards the bottom of the facing page.Ҡ For additional color, a strip of the dark and/or the light solid colors can be added to the top and bottom of the border piece.Ҡ These simple ideas and designs provided the pop that I was looking for on these pages.
