Stained Glass Kits FAQ

Whether you"re a stained glass newbie or a glass art veteran, here are a few common stained glass kit questions answered.

Stained Glass Kits FAQ No.1: Fun to Work With?

Well, now you"re pulling my leg. Of course they"re fun. Stained glass kits are the perfect way to get your glass techinques up to par--as well as help you make some awesome pieces of art you can put up around the home or give away as treasured gifts.

(My stained glass suncatchers are a big hit at Christmas.)

Stained Glass Kits FAQ No.2: Are They Hard?

No way, jose. If you"re able to turn on a glue gun, operate it, and not burn yourself--then you are fully capable of working with a stained glass kit.

Stained Glass Kits FAQ No.3: Suitable For Kids?

Oh, they are great for kids. Stained glass art is the perfect way to get kids involved and using their creative muscles.

You will, of course, want to supervise. Some kits require soldering.

Stained Glass Kits FAQ No.4: Which Kit Should I Buy?

There are a bunch of different "levels" of stained glass kits to help you along your stained glass learning curve.

For beginners I would recommend looking at pre-cut stained glass kits which have the glass pieces already sized and grounded for you. (This can be a a big bonus when trying to figure out if you acutally want to pursue this hobby.)

Stained Glass Kits FAQ No.5: But What if I Have Some Stained Glass Experience?

Once you"ve got the hang of the basics, you can go with a slightly more advanced stained glass kit where you"ll get a whole assortment of tools to help you realize your creative vision.(These are usually called tool stained glass kits.)

But regardless of which kit you get, super easy or slightly more advanced, you"ll find stained glass kits are way easier to work with than you thought.

G Scale Model Railroads -- Make the Most of Your Garden

G scale model railroads are a popular and fun way to get the world of trains into your home or backyard garden. Model trains have long been a spark of the young imagination and the passion of many men"s dreams. They speak of adventure, mystery, and travel to exotic destinations. And you need not leave your own backyard to do so. G scale model railroads are the large scale, narrow gauge trains perfect for large model rooms and backyard gardens. The G scale is often falsely believed to be the "garden" scale among American collectors.   G scale model railroads are named so from the original large scale train LGB, Lehmann Gross Bahn (or Lehmann Large Train), begun in 1968. G scale officially is 1:22.5 scale, but often refers to 1:25 and 1:32 scale. In America, the Garden railroads, or 1:20.3 scale, is often considered among G scale, but are not in reality G scale as they use different track. These are all large-scale model trains, ideal for displays, but are not quite large enough to be ride-on, as are the "backyard railways".
